Learn a New Language as a Couple

Share |

It always helps to study a language with someone else. By committing to learn a new language with your husband, wife, or significant other, you have a built-in study partner. Speak to each other using the sentences that you've learned from your audio lessons. Let the experience, not only of learning together but traveling together, enhance your relationship and open your minds to new parts of the world.

If your anniversary plans are taking you to a far away country, consider taking the time to learn another language with your partner. Spending time together before a big trip can get stressful if you're always talking about the plans; focus on something fun to take your minds off the itinerary! Learn another language to prepare for the big days after.

Part of the fun of visiting other countries is meeting the people who live there and immersing yourself in the culture. Introduce yourselves to the world in the language of the locals. You can stray off the beaten path; with your newly acquired foreign language skills, you don't have to sign up for expensive guides and tours that just pack you in with other English speakers. Get the full experience by meeting and conversing with locals.
